Did you know Stitch Fix carries maternity styles?  With two little ones and another on the way, it’s nearly impossible to go shopping for new clothes.  So, at around 20 weeks pregnant, I gave Stitch Fix Maternity a try and received my first maternity fix.

What is Stitch Fix?

Here’s a little info from their website: “Stitch Fix is the first fashion retailer to blend expert styling, proprietary technology and unique product to deliver a shopping experience that is truly personalized for you.”

How does Stitch Fix work?

Stylists will put together a selection of five items according to your style and budget as noted in your style profile.  Then, the items are shipped directly to you.  Anything you choose not to keep can be easily returned.  Simple!  No endless scrolling through online clothing retailers, picking out things that may or may not work, printing return labels, and finding time to make a trip to the post office for returns.

Stitch Fix provides a personalized shopping experience in a super convenient way.  That’s one of the many reasons why I love Stitch Fix.  It’s the perfect shopping solution for busy moms.

Learn more about all the reasons why I love Stitch Fix in this post here.

So, what did I keep?

I kept the capris!

I loved the first two and almost kept them.  But the Caley Open Kimono ($34) isn’t something I’m needing in my wardrobe right now, and the Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan ($38) would be too warm with summer on the way.  The Alma Maternity Knit Top ($38) was too big, and the Maternity Camis ($44) were too tight.  Both were really great quality, though.  The Larae Maternity Scissor Hem Capris ($58) fit perfectly and are super cute on.  I needed some capris, so I kept them and wore them the next day!  I love that Stitch Fix saved me the hassle of going to the store and trying a bunch of different ones on.

Tips for Getting a Great Fix

  1. Keep your style profile up to date.  This was my first maternity fix, so I updated my style profile before ordering.
  2. Leave feedback when you checkout.  After I selected whether I was keeping or returning the item, I left a note for my stylist letting her know what I liked and did not like about each one.
  3. Write a note when scheduling a Fix.  If you have a wedding or an event that you need something special for, you can let your stylist know when you schedule.  She’ll keep that in mind when selecting items for your Fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does it cost?  There is a $20 styling fee that can be applied toward anything you keep in your shipment.  If you purchase all of your items, you’ll get 25% off your total!
  • How long do I have to return my Stitch Fix?  Stitch Fix gives you three days to try on and return any unwanted items.
  • Who pays for shipping and returns?  Stitch Fix has free shipping and free returns.  Just place any unwanted items in the provided prepaid envelope and set it out to be picked up by your mail carrier.
  • Do I have to sign up for a certain number of shipments?  Stitch Fix is flexible with ordering.  You can order one Fix at a time or sign up for a subscription.  There are no membership fees or subscription requirements.  You are simply charged a styling fee with each Fix that you schedule, which can then be credited toward the purchase of any of the items in your shipment.

Helpful Resources

Below are some great resources for shopping, saving money, making money, and more!

Ebates – Ebates is a free and easy way to earn cash back when shopping online.  Some of my favorite places to shop through Ebates include: Etsy, Amazon, Target, Old Navy, Lowe’s, Walmart, and more!  Ebates earns a commission on referrals, and they share that commission with you.  I talk about it in depth in my post here: How To Earn Cash with Ebates.  It’s super easy (and free) to join.  You just provide your email address, and choose a password.  You can get a $10 cash bonus after your first $25 purchase by signing up through my link here.

Ibotta – Ibotta is another free way to earn cash back. It’s like using coupons without the hassle of clipping coupons. You simply sign up for a free account and then after you shop, scan your products that have coupons in the app, scan your receipt, and watch the cash fall into your Ibotta account. I use the app when I shop at Target and Kroger, but there are a lot of places you can use the service.  You can receive a $10 welcome bonus by signing up through my link here.

Airbnb – Airbnb is a great way to travel.  Instead of staying at hotels, you can rent someone’s house, apartment, or room.  I have even seen people list their Airstream trailers for rent.  How cool is that?!  We used Airbnb on our last trip to Washington, D.C., and it was awesome.  We stayed in a cute little neighborhood near Dupont Circle and were able to walk to the grocery store, local bookstore, and local restaurants nearby.  There were four of us total, and we rented the whole apartment and had everything we needed for a great stay.  If you’re looking for a fun, cost effective way to travel, check out Airbnb.  This referral link will give you $40 toward your first trip.

VIPKID – Do you have a bachelor’s degree and want to teach English online?  With VIPKID, you can apply to be a teacher with a flexible schedule, working out of the comfort of your home, teaching English virtually to children between the ages 4-12 in China.  And, VIPKID provides all lesson plans!

Free Blogging Resources – There are so many amazing free blogging resources available that I listed all of my favorites in one place.  From learning how to start a blog to learning how to increase page views… even a free Pinterest course!  You can access the full list in this blog post here.

3 Easy Ways to Save Money on Travel – Great for Families!

We love traveling.  Whether it’s a last-minute, spontaneous weekend trip or a thoughtfully planned out week-long vacation, sometimes it’s nice to just get away on a family vacation. One of my favorite things about traveling is how much money can be saved.  For example, we rarely spend money on hotels.  If we need to rent […]
