The Best Gift Ideas for New Moms
The last thing on a new mama’s mind is cooking and sometimes even eating! Restaurant gift cards are great for new moms because they take food prep and meal planning off of mom’s plate. Ordering takeout is so convenient and helpful when you have a little one at home. Amazon has many restaurant gift cards from which to choose with free shipping and some with free e-mail delivery.
Over 20,000 wellness locations accept SpaFinder gift cards. A SpaFinder gift card is the perfect gift for a new mom as it gives her the opportunity to schedule in some time for herself. From facials and pedicures to fitness classes and personal training sessions, SpaFinder offers a long list of available services. To check to see which locations accept SpaFinder, simply enter in a zip code on SpaFinder’s website, and a list will be provided.
A lot of change is happening all at once after mama gives birth. Not only is she taking care of a new little life, but she is recovering as well. New clothes that fit her changing size can help her feel refreshed and confident. As a new mom, it was frustrating not being able to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes but also no longer needing to wear maternity clothes. I was somewhere in between. Clothing gift cards can help with this. Amazon has many clothing store gift cards from which to choose with free shipping and some with free e-mail delivery.
Stitch Fix is also a great option for clothing! She will receive a personalized selection of items at her doorstep, and she can try them on in the comfort of her own home over the course of a few days without the hassle of going to the store.

Mommy & Me Classes Gift Certificates
Music and baby gym classes are great for mom and baby. Places like The Little Gym, Kindermusik, and Gymboree provide a wonderful environment for moms and their babies to interact and bond in a new, fun way. Moms can use the learned activities and songs at home to continue to help with baby’s development as well. The price of these classes can add up month after month, so a gift certificate is a great way to help decrease the cost.
Photography Session Gift Certificate
Whether it’s a mini session, newborn session or family session, having professional pictures done is such a great thing. We have had them done a couple of times, and we definitely cherish the photos. A gift certificate for a photography session is a gift that lasts a lifetime.
Amazon Prime has been an absolute lifesaver for me as a new mom. Being able to order diapers, wipes, and other essentials online without the cost of shipping has been such a big help. Amazon Prime includes free two-day shipping and other awesome services like unlimited streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows with Prime Instant Video, ad-free access to more than a million songs with Prime Music, and unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos. It makes for the perfect gift! If mom is already a member, she can always exchange the service for an Amazon.com gift card. You can give the gift of Amazon Prime by clicking here.

House Cleaning Service
Just like cooking, cleaning the house will probably be the last thing on her mind. A cleaning service can take a load off of a new mom. Plus, who doesn’t love a freshly cleaned house? Mom will probably be at home around the clock in the beginning so having a clean environment can make a big difference.
Helpful Products Beyond the Registry
The Solly Baby Wrap is a wonderful option if mama wants to wear her baby. The material is so soft and doesn’t hold in heat like some other wraps do. There are videos on sollybaby.com that show moms how to wear their little ones starting with the newborn carry.
Monogrammed items make the perfect gifts for new moms. She can never have too many burp cloths, and there are some adorable options on Etsy. Check out the sweet little set that was given to me here.

Shushing sounds and white noise can help to calm a crying baby. With its recorded rhythmic human shushing sounds, the Baby Shusher makes calming a crying baby simpler. It’s portable and can be used around the house and on the go. This is one of my all-time favorite baby products!
It is so important that mom stays hydrated before and after giving birth. Not only is it important for her health, but it is also necessary for milk production. A new water bottle can be a good reminder for her to drink water. I use both of these all the time. One is a glass water bottle, and one is stainless steel.
Boon Lawn Countertop Drying Rack
This drying rack is a convenient spot for pacifiers, bottles, and all of their parts. This is one of those products I didn’t know I needed until I had a ton of little pieces that needed a place to dry. Boon Grass is great for that. It can be washed in the dishwasher and easily kept clean. We have the one in green.
As a new mom, I am constantly making lists. A journal is a perfect place for that. It’s also great for jotting down milestones, memories, and other notes.
Resources That I Love
Below are my top recommendations for saving money, making money, and more!
Ebates – Ebates is a free and easy way to earn cash back when shopping online. Some of my favorite places to shop through Ebates include: Etsy, Amazon, Target, Old Navy, Lowe’s, Walmart, and more! Ebates earns a commission on referrals, and they share that commission with you. I talk about it in depth in my post here: How To Earn Cash with Ebates. It’s super easy (and free) to join. You just provide your email address, and choose a password. You can get a $10 cash bonus after your first $25 purchase by signing up through my link here.
Ibotta – Ibotta is another free way to earn cash back. It’s like using coupons without the hassle of clipping coupons. You simply sign up for a free account and then after you shop, scan your products that have coupons in the app, scan your receipt, and watch the cash fall into your Ibotta account. I use the app when I shop at Target and Kroger, but there are a lot of places you can use the service. You can receive a $10 welcome bonus by signing up through my link here.
Airbnb – Airbnb is a great way to travel. Instead of staying at hotels, you can rent someone’s house, apartment, or room. I have even seen people list their Airstream trailers for rent. How cool is that?! We used Airbnb on our last trip to Washington, D.C., and it was awesome. We stayed in a cute little neighborhood near Dupont Circle and were able to walk to the grocery store, local bookstore, and local restaurants nearby. There were four of us total, and we rented the whole apartment and had everything we needed for a great stay. If you’re looking for a fun, cost effective way to travel, check out Airbnb. This referral link will give you $40 toward your first trip.
VIPKID – Do you have a bachelor’s degree and want to teach English online? With VIPKID, you can apply to be a teacher with a flexible schedule, working out of the comfort of your home, teaching English virtually to children between the ages 4-12 in China. And, VIPKID provides all lesson plans!
